MEN’S BOARD EVENTS 

Men’s Club Championships

Stroke event played over 72 holes in March.  The four grades are to be decided by the Match Committee. Senior Championship is open to members aged 55 years or over, Junior Championship is open to members under 21 years of age as at date of championship.

Club Foursomes Championship

Foursomes event played over 18 holes in October.

Club Fourball Championship – Chris Clements Cup

Fourball event played over 36 holes in April.

2 Ball Ambrose Championships

2 Ball Ambrose event played over 18 holes.

Junior Golfer of the Year

Trophy awarded to the junior golfer scoring the most points throughout the year. 

Sentinel-Times 4BBB Knock Out Trophy

4BBB Handicap Knockout Match Play event.  Played on dates set by Match Committee.

Charlie Hansford Memorial Trophy

Stroke event played over three rounds.  Trophy is awarded to the player with the best two net scores over the three rounds. (Rounds are played on days marked CHMT in Fixture). 

Gordon Parry Memorial Trophy

Singles handicap knockout match play event played over 18 holes.  Played on dates set by Match Committee.

Don & Gwen Evison Trophy

Awarded to the player who scores the most points throughout the year for Tuesday competitions. 

Ritchie Beecroft Memorial 4BBB Scratch

4BBB Stroke event played in November.

Roy Parry Trophy

A monthly trophy is awarded to the club member with the best scratch score on Monthly Medal days.  Ties decided by count back.  An annual trophy is awarded to the club member who wins the most monthly events.  Ties decided by the years lowest gross score.

  1. V. Goyne Trophy

A monthly trophy is awarded to the club member with the best net score on Monthly Medal days.  Ties decided by count back.  An annual trophy is awarded to the club member who wins the most monthly medal events.  Ties decided by the year’s lowest net score.  A junior member may win the Goyne Trophy, but the “benefits” go to the member with the best net score. 

Greg O’Neill Encouragement Award

Ken & Betty Dowel Trophy

Par event played over four rounds.  Trophy is awarded to the player with the best three Par scores over the four rounds. (Rounds are played on days marked KBDT in Fixture). 

Junior Star Medallist

Restricted to juniors and awarded to the player with the best net score on Monthly Medal days.

  1. C. W. O’Neill Trophy

Trophy awarded to the most consistent golfer throughout the year, scored by 2 points for a win and 1 point for a ball down the line in singles events.  Ties decided by number of wins.

Eclectic Competitions 

Two Eclectic Competitions held during winter and summer.

WOMEN’S BOARD EVENTS

Ladies Club Championships

A Stroke event over 54 holes in the last week of April and first 2 or 3 weeks of May. There are 3 (or 4) grades, divisions to be determined by the Match Committee. The Championship Net Aggregate and Seniors Net Aggregate events are played concurrently with championships.  Senior division is open to women aged 70 years and over, at the start of the event. Junior is 21 years or under. 

Matchplay Championships

Four qualifiers in each of A, B and C grade are selected after 2 stroke rounds played during March. Semi-finals and finals are match play off Scratch.

Club 18 hole Foursomes Championships

A 18 Hole foursome Stroke event. Scratch and Handicap events are awarded trophies.

Star Medallist

An 18 Hole Stroke event in which all the Monthly Medal winners qualify to play-off, usually in November. The trophy is awarded to the player who has the best net score.

McLaren Memorial Fourball

A Fourball Par event. The top 4 pairs are selected from a qualifying round, then playoff in match play (on full handicap) semi-finals and final.

Richie Beecroft Memorial Fourball

Established in 2012. A Fourball Stroke event played after Star Medalist day in November. Scratch and Handicap winners have their names engraved on the Memorial Board.

NON BOARD EVENTS

Singles Knockout/s and 36/40+ Markers Knockout (when sufficient numbers)

18 Hole match play knockout event played during Feb-June.

Gloria Burgess Memorial Trophy

The best 2 of 3 Stableford rounds played during specified days, usually in the later part of the year. Trophies are awarded in A, B and C grades.

Silver Spoon (Golf Vic)

The 4 qualifying rounds are played on specified stroke days during the year. A final round is played to decide the winner. The KGC winner is eligible to play in the state final at a Melb.course.

Doris Chambers (Golf Vic)

An 18 Hole Foursomes Stableford Event. Club winners progress to a playoff at a metropolitan course.

RWH 4BBB (Golf Vic)

A 4Ball Stableford event. Club winners progress to a playoff in South Gippsland District.

Ritchie Beecroft (RB) Memorial Trophy (Saturday only)

An 18 hole stroke event played monthly on Saturdays throughout the year.

Handicap. The trophy is awarded to the player who has the best net score most times during the year.  Scratch. The trophy is awarded to the lowest scratch score during the year.

Monthly Medal

An 18 Hole Stroke event played each month on a Wednesday.

Handicap (& Medal Winner) awarded to the player who has the best net score on the day. Medal winners playoff on Star Medallist day.   Scratch – The player who has lowest scratch score on Monthly Medal day.

Most Consistent Player (Wed)

The best scores each week receive points dependent on the size of the field. The player with the most points at the end of the year wins the trophy.

Novelty Events

Includes Eclectics, Birdies, Gobbles & Mud Masters (winter only) .  Trophies are awarded at the end of the year.

OPEN EVENTS (GUEST DAYS)

Ruby Stephens Memorial Open 3 Ball Ambrose 

An Open 3 Ball Ambrose event played later in the year.

Moulton Bowl

An 18 Hole Open Stableford Teams event played during early part of the year.  A Ladies Singles event is played concurrently. (Actual dates are decided each year at District level, based on club rotations/choices, etc.)

Shirley Johnson Memorial Event 

An Open 18 Hole 4BBB Stableford event played during the tournament in November.
